We have practice this Saturday at 11am at Catonsville high we need you guys to make this practice especially since its following a week off.  We may also try and get something together this week I will let you guys know with an email later this week.

Our first game this week is at 9am at Auth Road Field #2 vs 1 good play then our second game in on the same field at 11am vs The Burg

This just in: a few minutes ago, the league folks posted a notice on the message board with the bad news that all 8-man games will be canceled.  Seems like the P.G. County Parks and Rec people didn’t want us to tear up their fields.

Even though we would have liked to come away with some “W”s today, this week’s games marked the first 8-man competition of the Cartel’s franchise history and was a learning experience for many of us.  This week’s games featured some spectacular plays, including a 40-yard pass by Antonio Ledbetter to Justin Ball, which set up a 5-yard pass from Ledbetter to Ryand Smith for the Cartel’s first touchdown of the season.

In the first game of the doubleheader, the Cartel held the MD Sharks to only three scores but lost 0-18.  In the second game versus The Nuts, the Cartel lost 6-16 but held the opposition to only two scoring plays.

We are going to be implementing some adjustments in time for next week’s game — keep your eyes open for information through email or at next week’s practice.

Later in the season, when I get more photos in, I’ll be making similar calls for your updated choice for player profile pics.  In the meantime, just comment here so we’ll have something to start with.  Also, please leave a comment if there is no photo of you from the latest batch.  Let me know so I’ll be reminded the next game!

We’ve gotten a handle on the team finances and here’s the expected cost: $77 per person, which covers the entire season.  This amount covers:

• League fees
• Referee fees per game (for the entire regular season and end-of-season tournament)
• Personalized team jersey (Please leave a comment with what size, 2-3 numbers and name you would like on the back of your Jersey.)

Please bring your league fees to the next practice.

Just wanted to let you guys know the new info about the league. The season will be 8 games long. They haven’t put out an exact start date but it will be in March sometime. There is also an end of season tournament which we will only have to pay one ref fee for. League fees consist of $350 per team and then $45 per game for the ref’s so to get in the league were looking at $755 as a team.  Once I get an exact number on how many people will be playing this year I will let you guys know how much it will be per person.

 As far as jerseys I will probably order them from CustomInk.com its around $40 per shirt and that would be team name on the front and player name and number on the back. Again once I know our exact number I will let you guys know how much it will be per jersey.

So after we get jerseys that puts the per player cost guessing we carry around 15 players to about $85 a person, and obviously if we carry more people the less everyone will have to pay.
